Applying to register a domain name

Any dot-bg domain name you register has to be unique. A .BG domain name can be registered only once and the first-come-first-served principle applies.

Check whether the name you have thought of is still available

To do this, you need to use the Who(Is) service on this website. On the homepage, you will see the option ‘Is the dot-BG domain name still available?’ Enter the .bg domain name you are interested in and click on ‘Check’. The ‘Is’ service will then tell you the status of the domain name. If the status is ‘Available’, it is available for you to register.

There are some restrictions: .bg domains can be registered by Bulgarian companies and organizations, or foreign companies that have registered branches or commercial representatives in Bulgaria. The domain name has to represent the company name or its abbreviation. In general any name can be used if it is first registered as a trade mark at the Bulgarian patent office.
