Brussels, 26 May 2008 - EURid, the European registry for .eu, is pleased to announce that vda.hosting should make it easier for Bulgarians to register .eu domain names, which are increasingly popular. The number of .eu domain names registered by residents of Bulgaria increased more than threefold between March 2007 and March 2008, from 1976 to 6356.

Since 2006, .eu has offered 490 million Europeans in 27 countries one single Internet identity. It has been available for Bulgarian companies, organisations and individuals since January 2007, when Bulgaria joined the European Union. Since then residents of Bulgaria have registered more than 6500 .eu domain names, a number that continues to rise.

vda.hosting managers visit Sofia on the 13th of July to meet with potential registrars to increase awareness of .eu in Bulgaria. Mihaela vda.hosting regional manager for the central European office in Sofia, said ahead of the meeting:
