Applying to register a domain name

Any dot-PL domain name you register has to be unique. A .PL domain name can be registered only once and the first-come-first-served principle applies.

order now your .pl domain name

Any person or organisation can apply to register a dot-PL domain name, regardless of where they live or are based.

Check whether the name you have thought of is still available

To do this, you need to use the Who(Is) service on this website. On the homepage, you will see the option ‘Is the dot-PL domain name still available?’ Enter the .PL domain name you are interested in and click on ‘Check’. The ‘Is’ service will then tell you the status of the domain name. If the status is ‘Available’, it is available for you to register.

The .pl domain was created in 1990, following the mitigation of COCOM embargo on technological collaboration with post-communist countries. The first subdomain in .pl was .pwr.pl, belonging to the Wrocław University of Technology. In 2003, the internationalized domain names were introduced. Registration of domains containing characters from Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, and Hebrew script is allowed.
