Applying to register a .eu domain name

Any dot-net domain name you register has to be unique. A dot-eu domain name can be registered only once and the first-come-first-served principle applies.

order now your .eu domain name

Any person or organisation can apply to register a dot-EU domain name, regardless of where they live or are based.

Check whether the name you have thought of is still available

To do this, you need to use the Who(Is) service on this website. On the homepage, you will see the option ‘Is the dot-NL domain name still available?’ Enter the .NL domain name you are interested in and click on ‘Check’. The ‘Is’ service will then tell you the status of the domain name. If the status is ‘Available’, it is available for you to register.

.eu is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the European Union, and organisations and citizens of EU member states, which was launched on 7 December 2005. Trademark owners were able to submit registrations through a sunrise process (similar to the launch of .info), in an effort to prevent cybersquatting. Full registration started on 7 April 2006.
